Ghosts, ghouls and goblins have taken up residence at the South Carolina State Museum for two weekends of safe Halloween fun on Saturday, Oct. 18 and 25 as the museum presents its annual Halloween event for families, “Tricks and Treats at the State Museum!”
“This year we are featuring a Haunted Halloween Party beginning at 11 a.m.,” says Programs Director Meika Samuel. “Children will be invited to participate in many different activities throughout the Museum such as Goblin Games, Creepy Crafts, Frightful Face Painting and Spooky Storytelling.”
Guests will be entertained by Nick Propst and Trixie the Catalina Macaw with pocket magic and incredible balloon art. Young visitors also will take part in a scavenger hunt that will earn them prizes and scary treasures as they “creepy-crawl” through the museum galleries, gathering the items needed from the Museum’s "ghostly guardians.” For an additional $2, children can pick out the perfect pumpkin to paint for a haunting Halloween jack-o-lantern.
As an added treat for parents, "those who come in costume for 'Tricks and Treats' will receive $1 off regular museum admission," said Samuel.
"Tricks and Treats” is included with museum admission or membership.

Family fun will be had by all Oct. 18 - and again on Oct. 25 - at the South Carolina State Museum as the Museum presents the annual "Tricks & Treats at the State Museum." Crafts, games, spooky storytelling and much more will provide a safe and enjoyable event for children and parents.
