The South Carolina Chapter of the Government Management Information Sciences (SC.GMIS) Elite Achiever Award was presented to the Division of the State Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the outstanding achievements SC.gov has made in the "implementation of creative information technology."
 
Barbara Teusink, Deputy CIO and Chair of the eGovernment Oversight Committee, accepted the award on behalf of the CIO during the recent SC.GMIS Leadership Development Summit in Hilton Head, S.C.
 
The Elite Achievers Award was created to identify and recognize outstanding achievements in technology initiatives within member agencies or communities. Based on agency size as defined by the GMIS organization, two awards were presented. The CIO's award was received in the category of state agencies having an IT budget greater than $1,000,000.
