Press Release:

COLUMBIA, S.C. - May 16, 2007 - The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources and the state’s official Web site (www.SC.gov) remind hunters and anglers that it is time to renew annual hunting and fishing licenses. All current hunting and fishing licenses will expire on June 30 and a new license is required starting July 1, 2007. Now, thanks to enhancements made to the DNR recreational licensing system, obtaining next season's South Carolina hunting and fishing license in advance is more convenient than ever before. The user-friendly licensing system now allows customers to purchase advance licenses for the 2008 fiscal year (July 1, 2007 - June 30, 2008) directly through the state's official Web site at www.SC.gov.  Advance license purchases for 2008 will be mailed by the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) beginning June 11, 2007.

In addition to the DNR's current licensing privileges, special hunting and fishing packages are now available for purchase, including the South Carolina Wildlife Sportsman Package and the Anglers Sportsman Package. Other online features include the ability for customers who have lost or had their license stolen to order a duplicate license for $3.00. Customers may also opt to receive an email confirmation of their purchases.

"DNR wants to make renewing your annual hunting and fishing license as easy and convenient as possible," said John Frampton, director of the S.C. Department of Natural Resources. "These improvements to our online recreational licensing system add another level of ease and convenience to the renewal process. We are committed to providing user-friendly services to the public. Support wildlife conservation in South Carolina and purchase your new hunting and fishing license in advance. Now, renewing your hunting and fishing license has never been easier."

Purchasing a license through the online system is easy, quick and secure.  Users only need to complete a short online form, select their license privileges, and pay with a Visa, MasterCard, or Discover debit
or credit card.

The South Carolina Recreational Licensing System was built at no cost to taxpayers through a partnership between the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources and South Carolina Interactive, a Columbia-based subsidiary of eGovernment firm NIC (Nasdaq: EGOV).
