A large selection of boats, outboard motors and other outdoor equipment will be auctioned to the public Wednesday at the popular annual surplus sale for the Department of Natural Resources.
The DNR auction will be held at 10 a.m. May 23 at 2760 Fish Hatchery Road, West Columbia. Inspection will be held Tuesday May 22 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Wednesday May 23, 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
Slated for auction are:
• 27 boats
• More than 40 outboard motors
• 13 ATVs
• 40 large pickup trucks
• Riding mowers
• Tractors
• Utility trailers
Additional vehicles will be available Friday May 25 when the Surplus Property program holds an auction of more than 100 cars and trucks at its warehouse on Boston Avenue in West Columbia. Vehicle inspection will be held Thursday May 24 from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. and Friday May 25 from 8:30 a.m. until 9:45 a.m.
More great deals will be available May 29-June 8 when the S.C. Surplus Property Warehouse holds its annual spring inventory sale. Every item in stock will be 70 precent off (vehicles, industrial and heavy equipment excluded.) That means the rock-bottom prices on computers, electronics and office equipment will be even lower.
The Surplus Property Program sells items that are no longer needed by state agencies but still have a useful life. The items are first offered to other government entities and qualified non-profits before they are sold to the public. Proceeds are returned to the agencies to offset the cost of buying new equipment.
The Surplus Property Warehouse is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm and is located at 1441 Boston Avenue, West Columbia, South Carolina.
