Additional Competitive Grant Applications
to be Accepted March 1 - 30
A new round of Competitive Grant applications will be accepted beginning today from South Carolina local governments and non-profit organizations seeking state grants for health, environmental, economic development, travel/ tourism or other projects.
All existing applications that were filed previously are still active and those organizations do not need to reapply, unless the application was for a date specific event and that date has passed.
The application and additional information can be found online at www.bcb.sc.gov under the “Competitive Grants” link on the left side of the page. At least one lawmaker or the governor must sponsor the application.
Applications are due by 5:00 pm Friday, March 30, 2007. Applicants may call (803) 734-3267 or email grants@oed.sc.gov for additional information. All grants are one-time awards. Successful applicants must submit a final report to the Competitive Grants Committee detailing the expenditure of any funds awarded.
The committee consists of five members with one member appointed by each of the following officials: the Governor, the President Pro Tempore of the Senate, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Chairman of the Finance Committee of the Senate, and the Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee of the House of Representatives. The committee is chaired by Jimmy Bailey of Charleston.
