NEH, ALA announce We the People Bookshelf awards for 3,000 libraries

The American Library Association (ALA) and the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) have selected 3,000 school and public libraries throughout the country to receive a collection of 17 classic books from the We the People Bookshelf project. The theme of this year’s Bookshelf is “Created Equal.”

SC Librarian Selected to Serve on National Museum and Library Services Board

The board advises the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), an independent federal agency that is the primary source of federal support for the nation's museums and libraries.

The selection is announced annually on or near Freedom of Information Day, March 16, the birthday of President James Madison, an early proponent of citizen access to government information.
